Translating Complex Processes Into Clear Learning Resources

The Office of Child Care (OCC) Monitoring System is a federal program monitoring state, territory, and Tribal Lead Agencies’ compliance with the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) statute and regulations and approved CCDF Plans. It also works to enhance consistency, transparency, and timeliness across all phases of monitoring.
Challenge
The OCC Monitoring team needed to provide states and territories with all the information and resources they need to perform monitoring processes.
Solution
We worked with subject matter experts to develop live webinars and pre-recorded e-learning modules with detailed information about monitoring processes. All materials incorporated adult learning principles, visual aids, and accessibility standards to ensure usability for diverse audiences.
Results
OCC now has standardized, user-friendly materials that make monitoring processes easier to understand and follow. Agencies can navigate requirements more efficiently, improving consistency, reducing errors, and minimizing the need for time-intensive technical assistance.
Webinars and E-learning Modules
To simplify the six-month monitoring process for state administrators and partner agencies, we developed and delivered live webinars and pre-recorded trainings. The e-learning content breaks the process into manageable modules, providing learners with clear guidance on compliance requirements while supporting consistent and transparent monitoring practices across agencies.
