Streamlining SSBG Data Reporting and Dissemination

The Office of Community Services (OCS) facilitates the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG), an important source of federal funds that allows states and territories to tailor social services programs to their population’s unique needs.
Challenge
The SSBG team needed to develop resources to share data submission information with grantees, as well as a report summarizing the data they collected from those grantees.
Solution
We supported the development of a variety of training materials for grantees, including user guides and video tutorials. We also designed and formatted the SSBG annual reports and provided technical support on webinars.
Results
SSBG grantees were equipped with the resources they needed to efficiently submit data and navigate the system, and the public gained greater visibility into the utilization of grant funds.

Annual Report
To support data reporting and dissemination, our team designed and formatted a 190+ page annual report featuring data submitted to the SSBG portal by all 57 SSBG grant recipients. Additionally, we provided copy editing and 508 remediation. The report presents information in a clear, accessible format for public audiences and promotes accountability in the use of federal funds.
Webinars
To support onboarding and training for grant recipients, we assisted with final video production of recorded webinars. Our team generated a caption file, copy edited the captions, and posted the final video and captions to the SSBG YouTube channel.
