The Adult Protective Services Technical Assistance Resource Center (APS TARC) is a federally funded national initiative working to strengthen APS programs across the country. The team also manages the National Adult Maltreatment Reporting System (NAMRS) to collect qualitative and quantitative data from APS programs nationwide.

Challenge

APS TARC wanted to reinforce itself as a go-to resource for APS professionals and state agencies. It needed a cohesive, polished brand and engaging content that clearly communicated its services and made it easier for its audience to understand the available resources.

Solution

We delivered a comprehensive suite of creative support, including a refreshed brand, conference display materials, motion graphics, podcast editing and transcription, annual reports, infographics, and copy editing. Each product was visually engaging, accessible, and aligned with APS TARC’s mission, ensuring consistency across all communications.

Results

APS TARC’s communications now reflect a cohesive, professional identity. The visually engaging, accessible materials resonate with its audience, enhance visibility, and strengthen the organization’s impact as a trusted APS resource.

Motion Graphic Animation

To boost awareness and understanding of APS TARC’s mission, our designers created a dynamic motion graphic animation. We collaborated closely with subject matter experts to craft the script and storyboard, record the voiceover, and design the visuals and animations. The final product is 508 compliant, meeting color contrast requirements, and includes captions and a transcript. It is featured on the APS TARC homepage.

Exhibitor Booth Display and Materials

To help APS TARC stand out and connect with conference attendees, we created a bold and cohesive visual presence for its exhibit at a national conference. Our team designed an eye-catching backdrop, tablecloth, flyer, and giveaways that reflected APS TARC’s vibrant brand and the communities it serves. We coordinated with vendors to ensure high-quality materials were printed and delivered on time.

Branding Refresh

To support consistency across federal initiatives, our team refreshed APS TARC’s branding to align with updates from the administrative level. The new project-specific color palette blends original APS TARC tones with the Elder Justice website’s scheme, offering a broader range of accessible design options. Additional graphic elements introduced visual movement and flexibility across materials, all while meeting Section 508 accessibility standards.

Annual Report

To support APS TARC with NAMRS, the voluntary data reporting system for APS state and territory programs, our designers lead the formatting of its annual report. We develop dozens of charts, tables, and infographics as well as provide professional copy editing and 508 remediation. The report presents complex data in a clear, accessible format for stakeholders.

Infographic Series

To inform stakeholders about the NAMRS data collection process, we developed a series of infographics. Our designers took a hand-drawn concept and transformed it into a professionally designed, 508-compliant collection of infographics that took a complex system and turned it into manageable and accessible resources that were posted online and distributed to stakeholders.

Accessibility

To ensure all resources meet federal accessibility standards, our accessibility experts review and address elements such as alternate text, reading order, color contrast, table formatting, nested headings, and metadata. We provide captions for all webinar recordings as well as transcripts and audio recordings for all podcasts.
