Working on behalf of the Office of Child Care (OCC) Monitoring project, our team conducts onsite monitoring visits with Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) lead agencies and their partner organizations to assess compliance with federal CCDF requirements. We’re proud to celebrate the successful completion of all 52 monitoring visits across the 50 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico for the third cycle of formal monitoring.
This cycle required the team to complete an ambitious scope of work within an accelerated timeline, finishing all visits in just 18 months, from March 2025 through August 2026. Throughout the cycle, the team adapted to evolving priorities and timelines while maintaining quality, consistency, and collaboration.
The result is a milestone that would not have been possible without the expertise, adaptability, and dedication of the WRMA Monitoring Team and their collaborative partnership with OCC.
Strengthening Monitoring Nationwide
Throughout the cycle, our subsidiary, WRMA, supported OCC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen monitoring processes and resources for Lead Agencies across the country. The team used coordinated planning and process improvements to successfully complete all monitoring activities and related deliverables. This work included supporting improvements to monitoring tools and reporting capabilities that strengthened analysis and program oversight.
We also updated and strengthened monitoring resources, templates, and process guides with expertise from WRMA’s consistency review and design teams.
Expanding Training and Resources
WRMA partnered with OCC to develop and deliver seven live national monitoring training sessions, along with on-demand training modules covering guided case file reviews and onsite monitoring interviews. Spanish-language versions were also developed for Puerto Rico.
The team continued supporting OCC staff throughout the cycle through monitoring updates, program integrity training, and additional learning opportunities. WRMA also contributed to quarterly reports featuring ongoing monitoring data and program integrity efforts.
Celebrating the People Behind the Work
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the people behind the numbers. As WRMA continues its partnership with OCC, we celebrate the entire Monitoring Team for this outstanding achievement. Their work contributed to the successful completion of this monitoring cycle and supported ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability and program oversight nationwide.
