As a close partner with Midwest Urban Strategies (MUS) on the Early Childhood Workforce Connector (ECWC) project, TriMetrix was proud to sponsor and attend their annual convening in early June. A leader in strengthening workforce systems across urban communities in the Midwest, MUS brings together workforce development professionals, partners, and stakeholders each year to share ideas and advance workforce solutions.

MUS designed the convening to move beyond conversation, offering real examples and shared experiences that can be adapted and applied across regions. Led by workforce development organizations in northwest Indiana, the event included tours of career and educational centers where TriMetrix staffers Kara Lehnhardt and Lindsey Engelhardt saw firsthand what creativity and determination can provide for a community: Strong workforce development systems that build community members’ skills and job readiness aligned to local employers’ needs.

Collaboration was at the heart of every presentation and conversation. From residents, employers, mayors, funders, educators, certification organizations, and apprenticeship programs, the presenters demonstrated that addressing workforce development challenges requires collaboration across the entire community. In addition, we were reminded that when those systems work together with intention and thoughtful planning, the outcomes can be transformative for communities, and we’re proud to play our part.

We’re excited for future collaborations that support these important initiatives. Our team is here to lift up their good work through media and communications support to expand their community outreach efforts, scalable and engaging learning solutions, research and evaluation that provides insights into program outcomes, and expanded access to early childhood registered apprenticeships through ECWC.
