Through the TriMetrix Cares Ambassador program, TriMetrix employees are encouraged to spend one paid eight-hour workday every six months volunteering for a nonprofit they care about.

Last month, Michigan-based staffers of WRMA’s OCC Monitoring Team, including Becky Warner, Jennifer Blake, Kathleen Hop, and Jeff Ball, volunteered with Kids’ Food Basket, an organization dedicated to addressing childhood hunger in local communities. As food programs face increasing challenges, the team wanted to take meaningful action to support efforts that provide nutritious meals to children and their families.

As a remote team, opportunities to connect in person are especially meaningful. Volunteering with Kids’ Food Basket gave the Michigan-based team a chance to come together, strengthen relationships, and make a positive impact in the community they call home.

During their volunteer day, team members assembled snack packs and sorted fresh produce in preparation for the final assembly line. Kids’ Food Basket of Kent County serves approximately 11,000 sack lunches and snacks each day to children across the community.

By volunteering with Kids’ Food Basket, the team directly supported the organization’s mission to alleviate food insecurity and strengthen outcomes for local children. The experience also reinforced TriMetrix’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community engagement in the places where employees live and work.

“We’re proud to have had the chance to make a positive impact and encourage others to get involved with organizations like Kids’ Food Basket to continue creating change in our local communities,” the team shared. “It was a wonderful volunteer experience for all of us, and we look forward to being able to participate again in the future.”
