Title: Associate Vice President
Office/Home City: Pittsburgh, PA
Years with TriMetrix: 8
How did you get started in this field?
I got started in this field as a front-line adult protective services (APS) investigator in Columbus, OH. For those that may not be familiar, APS investigates abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older adults and adults with disabilities. It was a challenging role, and it’s been the basis for all the work I’ve done in the APS field from running a local APS program to then working at the national APS association to joining TriMetrix in continuing to support APS professionals. APS can be quite the underdog, and I love an underdog.
What do you like most about your role?
What I love most about my newish role as Assistant Vice President is the ability to work both on the project I manage, the APS Technical Assistance Resource Center (TARC), and on corporate priorities. The APS TARC work is all about giving APS professionals the tools and assistance they need to succeed. The corporate work I do is all about giving all of TriMetrix the tools and assistance they need to succeed. The goals are basically the same for two different populations, so I get the chance to try out new and different tactics on both fronts.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
When I’m not working I’m usually at the gym, cooking, or playing video games. The gym is really the most important thing I do for my mental, not just physical, health. I couldn’t survive without it. On the cooking front, I’m a massive food nerd and love to try sampling and making new food and pretending I’m a chef. My husband is very grateful for that hobby. Video games are a great way to unplug. I mostly play role-playing games like Fallout and Outer Worlds and odd indie games like Inside and Exit 8.
