In celebration of Week of the Young Child and National Apprenticeship Week in April, our initiative, the Early Childhood Workforce Connector (ECWC), is hosting a 75-minute virtual webinar:
The Case for ECE as a Quality Job
Date: April 21, 2026
Time: 2–3:15 PM ET
The webinar will feature a panel of national experts examining how early childhood educator careers align with the definition of “good jobs” and what is needed to strengthen these pathways. Participants will hear from leaders working at the intersection of workforce development, early childhood education, and apprenticeship programs.
The panel includes Reeva Murphy and Marian Grant-Whitlock of ECWC, Amanda Bergson-Shilcock of the National Skills Coalition, and Kelsey Swanson of SAL Community Services. Together, they will provide insights into how the field can attract and retain talented educators while ensuring careers in early childhood are sustainable, rewarding, and aligned with broader workforce development goals.
This webinar is designed for early childhood educators, program directors, apprentices, advocates, and policymakers who are interested in learning more about the future of the early childhood workforce.
We can’t wait to see you there!
