Through the TriMetrix Cares Ambassador program, TriMetrix employees are encouraged to spend one paid eight-hour workday every six months volunteering for a nonprofit they care about.

On Dec. 5, NCSIA eligibility subject matter expert Janet Feil spent her day supporting The Senior Stocking Project, a local effort to support low-income seniors in her community.

The group works throughout the year collecting items to be placed in Christmas stockings for approximately 3,000 low-income seniors. The stockings are handmade and filled with personal care items (such as socks, gloves, hand lotion, and toothpaste), snacks, candy, small gifts, and a tree ornament.

Janet worked with a group of volunteers to pack and distribute the stockings to local Veterans Administration centers, Meals on Wheels sites, and low-income senior facilities across four counties in Colorado.

“All the stockings are hand packed, as many of them require additional attention to ensure the seniors’ medical and dietary needs are met,” Janet shared. “The project takes many months to come together, but days like Dec. 5 assembly day are extremely rewarding.” Janet is extremely grateful to TriMetrix for supporting her in the meaningful opportunity.
