ACYF contracts sequentially with WRMA for an IT solution and analysis of child maltreatment data
In 1988, the Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF) needed a trusted contractor to design, implement, and maintain a national data collection and reporting system about child maltreatment.
WRMA collaborated on the initial development contract and became the prime contractor for sequential contracts due to its demonstrated expertise in developing IT systems for state child welfare agencies. Under ACYF guidance, WRMA has continued to develop and enhance the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS). It is widely accepted as the primary source of child protective services statistics about child maltreatment in the United States.

Office of Child Care partners with WRMA to provide subsidy technical assistance to states
In 2011 the Administration for Children and Families’ Office of Child Care (OCC) sought a respected contractor with expertise in early childhood education and program integrity.
OCC sought to launch the National Center on Subsidy Innovation and Accountability (NCSIA), a new national center designed to provide resources and technical assistance to states, territories, and tribes on their effective use of federal child care subsidy funds. WRMA was selected and worked with OCC to fulfill their vision. WRMA brought on a talented team of early childhood systems experts who began working closely with the federal OCC regional offices to provide targeted subsidy technical assistance to state and territory administrators.

ACL contracts with WRMA for data collection, resource center dedicated to Adult Protective Services
In 2013, the federal government identified a need to collect annual, national data from adult protective services (APS) programs in 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five territories.
WRMA developed the National Adult Maltreatment Reporting System (NAMRS) in response to this need, building on our experience with the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) and utilizing decades of subject matter expertise in protective services. Since the initial NAMRS pilot project, WRMA has twice been awarded annual contracts to administer NAMRS, conduct research in APS on COVID-19 and predictive analytics, and to provide technical assistance to APS professionals via the APS Technical Assistance Resource Center (APS TARC).
